Gaelle’s World

Welcome, this is me!!  My name is Gaelle A. J. McLoud, and for many years I have felt that I needed to hide who I am.  I was raised in the church as a pastor’s daughter, and I comprehended pressure to present myself a certain way.  To be fair, this pressure did not come mainly from my parents, but from my idea of what the church expected.  As a result, my spiritual journey has been complicated, and has gone in many directions.  Today, I am a self-identified Progressive Christian, and I love to spread God’s light in the world.  I have a passion for volunteering for church mission projects, and I have begun to volunteer as a worship leader.  It is amazing for me to hear myself preaching sermons, but I feel a strong calling from God to speak love.

However, the pressure to be a certain way has continued to follow me.  Often, people say not to mix religion and politics.  So, why am I mixing the two in this blog??  My reasoning is as follows: Jesus was political.  He often preached to the leaders of His time, and addressed many topics concerning political hot-points such as money and sex.  What could be a more political scene than Jesus overturning the tables in the temple?  Jesus was a revolutionary in many ways.  I feel inspired by my faith in God, and the example set by His son Jesus, as written about in the Bible, to approach both religion and politics in my life and writings.  Therefore, this blog is a full representation of who I am, and I plan on holding nothing back.

Get ready, I’m coming atcha!! With Blessings, G.
